Internet Services

To get on the internet and take advantage off all it has to offer, you'll need a fast PC, such as one based on the Intel Pentium IV processor, equipped with a modem or a broadband connection. You'll also need a web browser (software that lets you browse the internet) and an account with an Internet Service Provider (ISP). Today, getting on the internet is one of the main reasons why people buy a new computer. It connects you to a library of information and to friends, family and colleagues.

  • E-mail
Sending e-mail messages is possibly the most popular use of the internet. E-mail allows you to communicate with people all over the world by sending and receiving electronic messages.

  • Web Surfing
The internet consists of millions of web pages covering practically every subject you can think of. You can surf the web to discover the internet at your own place or use a search engine to drill-down into information you need.

  • Instan Messaging
Instant messaging tools notify you when friends, family and colleagues are online allowing you to immediately chat with them and exchange files or instant messages.

  • Video Conferencing
Equipped with video cameras, two or more people can engage in video conversations face to face over the internet regardless of where they are in the world.

  • Chat
Chat rooms are a great place to make new friends talk with your favourite star or celebrity and seek advice or information.

  • Internet Phone
With a fast multimedia PC equipped with a microphone, soundcard and speaker, a reliable internet connection and the right software, you can maka phone calls over the internet.

  • Broadband Internet
One of the most exciting developments on the internet today is high-speed broadband internet. With broadband, downloads happen faster, web-based images appear faster and you can watch smooth full-screen videos, TV shows and movies right on your PC.

  • Internet Security
Every time you log on to the internet, your computer becomes part of a global public network. Because this network is public, it is important to protect your PC from being affected by viruses. The best way to protect your PC is to install anti-virus software that periodically scans your computer for viruses and malicious files and fixes or removes them from your computer.
